FUSION DANCE
The most important (and fun) part of dancing is doing it to great music!
While our mission at The Annex is to provide learning and social dance opportunities in a variety of individual styles, we also are passionate about spreading the excitement of Fusion partner dancing.
What Is Fusion partner dancing?
Fusion partner dancing is all about creativity, connection, and musical exploration.
Here is our 3 part definition of Fusion dancing:

-
Mixing dance styles: With Fusion, you can combine different partner dances—like Blues, Tango, or Swing—all in one song. You’re not locked into one style. With a little knowledge about tempos, rhythm and vibe you can shift and flow between two or more dances easily!

2. Dancing to any music: You don’t have to dance Salsa to Salsa music or Tango to Tango music.
Fusion dancers love to take a style they know and dance it to unexpected genres—like dancing Salsa to Hip-Hop or Bachata to Rock.

3. Sharing moves across styles: Fusion dancers borrow and blend. You might take a turn from Swing, a close embrace from Tango, or a slide from Blues—and use it in another dance style.
Fusion is playful, adaptable, and all about experimenting and expressing yourself to a great piece of music.
